There is nothing scarier than being lost in a place you are not familiar with.
If you got lost in your own town, at least you can recognize different areas and hopefully find your way. But when you are away from home, getting lost is a nightmare. I’ve actually had this nightmare a few times!
Now, imagine being a tiny penguin that has gotten separated from your family. Not only can a penguin not read directions to find their way home, they cannot talk and ask for help. They are stuck just trying to figure it out.
One Humboldt penguin recently found herself in a bit of a bind. While her species is native to Peru and Chile, this penguin got a little lost and wandered into a stranger’s home in Chimbote, Peru.
She was scared and hungry. She just wanted something to eat. Thankfully, even thoughshe scared the family she interrupted, they were kind and called the police to come help her.
The penguin was taken to a zoo, so she could be looked at and taken care of after her big scare. After eating all the fish she wants, this girl will be released back into the wild, where she belongs!
